Verizon Wireless Is Approved To Build Cell Tower In North Dakota

After Verizon’s cell tower application was denied in North Fargo, they decided to appeal the refusal and ended up with an approved permit.

Don Haney of KFGO reported that, “The Planning Commission had turned down the conditional use request to co-locate the cell tower on a stadium light tower on park district property at Jack Williams Stadium because it did not comply with the flood setback ordinance and zoning laws.”

After Verizon appealed, the City Commissioners decided to approve the cell tower proposal as long as the company accepted liability. The electrical equipment and control box will be placed high on the tower, which is out of the flood area. The American Legion will receive the revenue from this project and it will go towards improving the Jack Williams baseball stadium.
