While
AT&T’s 4G LTE is available in some parts of the country, not everyone has
access to this new technology. AT&T hopes to expand their technology into
50 additional markets by the end of the year. Ever since AT&T rolled out
their 4G LTE coverage in 2011, their plan was to have this network completed by
the end of 2013 and they are working hard to achieve this goal.
AT&T
is currently the only cellular network to offer 4G LTE. Their 4G LTE technology
has two layers, which makes it different from other cellular networks. The two
layers consist of HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul and
LTE, both capable of delivering 4G speeds. These
two layers are able to provide a smoother and more consistent mobile broadband
experience.
