Each year, Carthage, Missouri holds the Marian Days celebration for people to sample the food, sights, and sounds of Southeast Asia. Susan Redden reported for The Joplin Globe, “The 36th annual celebration will officially start today [August 7, 2013], bringing tens of thousands of Catholics of Vietnamese descent to the Congregation of the Mother Co-Redemptrix.”

Because of this festival, the population of Carthage has more than quadrupled, which means more cell coverage is needed. Verizon has brought a Cell On Light Truck in Carthage. This enhances the wireless capacity so that the network will be able to handle all the extra phone calls during this celebration.
