6 Towers To Go Up In West Virginia To Cover Dead Section on 88-Mile Toll Road

WCHS of West Virginia reported that, “The general manager of the West Virginia Parkways Authority said Thursday he expects work to begin next spring on the first of six cell phone towers planned for a dead section of the 88-mile toll road.

There have been legal issues surrounding this project with Verizon and it should be cleared up in a few weeks so that the construction of the first tower can be built.  Three of the six sites for the towers have been approved by the Federal Highway Administration and the general manager of the West Virginia Parkways Authority believes the other three sites will be approved during the next year. Verizon is also required to make space available on the tower for other cell phone companies and they have already been in talks with AT&T.
