Colorado Mesa University Gets Temporary Cell Tower On Parking Garage

Any place you gather 10,000 or more people who are constantly checking their email, sending text messages, or completing any numbers of tasks via their Smartphone there is bound to be slow service. Colorado Mesa University has been trying to find a solution to this problem, which is why they have allowed AT&T to install a new cell tower on top of a campus parking garage.

This temporary cell phone tower will increase AT&T’s network coverage between 12th street and the university’s campus. This will give AT&T and the university time to decide on a more permanent location for a communications tower. At the beginning of July, AT&T launched their 4G LTE technology in Grand Junction and they hope to continue to expand their network in the surrounding area.
